d) Providing free stuff
There must be reasons why visitors come to your site. The king of traffic is the magic word "FREE". Most often than not, sites receive traffic when there is something free. Many things can be provided free:
1) Useful information – A website with tonnes of original, fresh content deserves high traffic too. If your site provides content not commonly found in any other sites, it will be natural for visitors to come to your site to find the information they want.
2) Free trial of products/services – Be it a 30 days trial product or services, or a demo, visitors will want to try something for their own benefits. In return, they may make a purchase if they find your product/services useful.
A top success formula to sell online is to "motivate people to read what you want to say". The word "FREE" can probably slow down many more eyeballs. It is no doubt a top marketing technique for your online business.
e) Opt-in Mailing list
Another powerful tool you can tap on is to build up an opt-in Mailing list. Once or twice a month, you can inform your customers about latest promotions, product modifications and changes. Here, great care should be taken so that you are not sending too many emails. If not, it can really be annoying.

There are many mailing list service providers:
1) Free services inlcude: Topica and Yahoo Groups are very popular. Both are advertising supported - every e-mail sent out includes an ad after the message.
